We are looking to hire a Clinic Registered Nurse. MercyOne Central Iowa sets the standard for personalized and radically convenient care in the Des Moines metro area and surrounding counties. Responsibilities Provide patient care in outpatient settings and deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate care provided by other clinical staff; support patient and family education; ensure communication across healthcare teams. Maintain clinical standards and operate with minimal supervision as appropriate. Administer medications and treatments safely via multiple routes and document accordingly. Perform nursing care, labs and diagnostic tests, phlebotomy, and limited radiology procedures following policies and universal precautions. Assist providers with patient care, scheduling, admissions, referrals, and outpatient procedures; communicate with physicians, staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on treatments, medications, test preparation, discharge, and health maintenance; document education and evaluate understanding. Participate in staff meetings, committees, quality improvement, risk management, and performance improvement projects. Maintain documentation accuracy and completeness in EMR (assessments, vitals, treatments, medications, education, lab results, histories, and consults). Maintain and monitor supplies, equipment, medication stock, and office machines; follow maintenance and quality control protocols; report malfunctions. Recognize and respond to urgent/emergency patient needs and initiate emergency procedures. Comply with applicable laws, Trinity Health policies, and standards of conduct; uphold professional and ethical behavior. Other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications Active RN License in the state of Iowa; licensure from other states may be required based on location. Compact State License acceptable where applicable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire. Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire. Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, web-based navigation, email, MS Office). Ability to read, write, and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues. Ability to work with diverse groups in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Completion of specialty classes or proof of other certifications required for some roles.
