Cardiac Sonographer

Position Summary Cardiac sonographer responsible for performing echocardiograms, vascular studies, and stress tests. This full‑time day‑shift position (Monday‑Friday, 6:30a.m.‑5p.m.) is based at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, with float to the Arcadia campus as needed. Core Functions Performs procedures by following and verifying referring provider orders, using independent judgment and established protocols. Oversees Heart Clinic echocardiographic services, ensuring quality and compliance with ASE or IAC guidelines. Educates patients and families about procedures and treatment. Produces high‑quality images, presents them for timely interpretation, and provides preliminary clinical findings to supervising physicians. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measures, troubleshoots, and coordinates with maintenance. Maintains a safe environment, adheres to safety policies, and ensures confidentiality of patient information. Manages workflow, monitors inventory, and performs high‑level disinfection per regulatory policies. Acting as the clinical and technical expert in cardiac sonography; trains staff and students and provides education to Banner Health personnel. Ensures procedures comply with professional scope, accreditation, and regulations such as the Joint Commission and Title22. Performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Completion of an accredited allied health cardiovascular program. National certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Cardiac Sonographer. Uncertified new hires must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. One to two years of clinical experience or equivalent clinical knowledge. Effective communication and human‑relations skills, ability to analyze data and solve problems. Preferred Qualifications Adult echo experience. Additional related education or experience.
