Nature of Work
• The Chadron State Foundation supports Chadron State College by securing and stewarding private support that advances student success, academic excellence, and institutional strength in western Nebraska and beyond.
• The Director of Annual Giving supports the Chadron State Foundation's work to secure and steward private support that advances student success, academic excellence, and institutional strength in western Nebraska and beyond.
• Grow annual fund revenue, participation, and donor retention by leading the Foundation's annual giving strategy and multi-channel fundraising communications program in partnership with the CEO. Build and manage a disciplined, year-round annual giving system that informs, solicits, and stewards donors through coordinated campaigns, strong segmentation and workflow management, and clear performance tracking. Examples of Work Performed
Essential Duties:
• Lead annual giving strategy with the CEO, including annual goals, campaign priorities, donor segments, key messages, channel strategy, and performance measures.
• Build and maintain a year-round annual giving system, including a working communications calendar that coordinates campaigns, stewardship, and donor outreach.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate annual giving campaigns, including the Fall Appeal, Faculty and Staff Appeal, Holiday and End of Calendar Year Appeal, Giving Day, Spring and End of Fiscal Year Appeal, Athletic Giving Weeks, and other priority annual giving efforts.
• Manage the annual phonathon, including planning, vendor coordination, segmentation, script alignment, monitoring, and integration with the broader campaign calendar.
• Design and manage selected peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, including volunteer recruitment, training, outreach, campaign goals, and results tracking.
• Strengthen donor acquisition, retention, reactivation, and leadership annual giving through segmented messaging, timely follow-up, and coordinated stewardship.
• Manage segmentation, appeal codes, campaign workflows, imports from giving platforms, list pulls, reporting, and data accuracy.
• Maintain timely and accurate campaign data, imports, workflows, donor records, and reports in Raiser's Edge NXT.
• Maintain confidentiality, donor data accuracy, and timely campaign documentation.
• Follow Foundation standards for data handling, donor communications, reporting discipline, and gift documentation.
• Complete additional duties as assigned. Secondary Duties:
• Support donor-centered communications that make giving clear, timely, personal, and meaningful.
• Help ensure campaign messages and donor touches include a clear next step.
• Coordinate with Foundation staff to keep campaign calendars, messaging, stewardship, data, and donor follow-up aligned.
• Support the continued development of a sustainable annual giving system and donor pipeline for Chadron State. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong writing and editing skills across email, direct mail, social media, stewardship, campaign messaging, or related communications.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to support or coordinate projects, campaigns, events, communications, or other deadline-driven work.
• Ability to learn fundraising systems, donor communications tools, and campaign reporting processes.
• Sound judgment in handling confidential information, internal coordination, and public-facing communications.
• Ability to work with volunteers, team leaders, ambassadors, students, or community partners.
• Comfort working in a small-shop environment where fundraising, communications, events, and operations are closely connected.
• Comfort working in both strategy and execution.
• Some evening and weekend work during campaign periods, events, Giving Day, and phonatho Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting, coordinating, or leading annual giving, fundraising campaigns, donor communications, alumni engagement, nonprofit programs, marketing campaigns, events, or related advancement work.
• Experience with donor segmentation, campaign planning, appeal tracking, or performance reporting.
• Experience using a fundraising CRM, especially Raiser's Edge NXT.
• Experience with online giving platforms, digital communications tools, peer-to-peer fundraising platforms, or event fundraising tools.
• Experience managing volunteers or supporting campaign activity through team leaders or ambassadors.
• Experience working in higher education, nonprofit fundraising, alumni relations, communications, marketing, events, or advancement services. Physical Demands License and Certification Requirements

Salary is commensurate with experience. The Chadron State Foundation may hire this position at the Associate Director, Director, or Senior Director level based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
