Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Step-Down RN provides specialized care to cardiac patients in a progressive care setting. This position requires delivering attentive, high-quality nursing services while monitoring complex cardiac conditions and responding effectively to patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess and monitor cardiac patients, ensuring timely recognition of changes in condition.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with protocols.
  
  
• 
  Document patient data accurately within the electronic medical record system.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on condition management and post-discharge instructions.
  
  
• 
  Maintain compliance with safety standards and facility policies.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac step-down or telemetry unit.
  
  
• 
  Hold a current RN license valid for South Carolina or a Multi-State/Compact license.
  
  
• 
  BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in telemetry monitoring and IV start skills.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work 12-hour days on a rotating schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  
  
• 
  Willingness to float within scope to meet unit staffing needs.
