Job Overview - Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Compensation: $275,000 - $300,000/year
Location: Staten Island, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (On-Site)


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Staten Island, NY for our client, supporting psychiatric care for children and adolescents across intensive outpatient and ambulatory behavioral health settings. This physician will provide psychiatric assessments, ongoing evaluation, medication management, and treatment planning for patients with a range of behavioral health conditions. The role includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team and opportunities to support resident education.


Responsibilities as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist:

• Psychiatric Care: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat children and adolescents with a range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
• Clinical Assessments: Conduct initial psychiatric assessments and ongoing evaluations to guide individualized treatment plans.
• Medication Management: Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications while evaluating treatment effectiveness and patient progress.
• Intensive Treatment: Provide psychiatric support for adolescents requiring structured, short-term behavioral health treatment before transitioning to outpatient care.
• Care Collaboration: Partner with clinicians, medical leadership, support staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Clinical Education: Provide guidance and supervision to rotating residents and other clinical trainees as appropriate.

Qualifications for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist:

• Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school is required.
• Licensure: Active New York State medical license or eligibility to obtain New York licensure is required.
• Certification: Board certification or board eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is required.
• Experience: Completion of an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship is required, with 1+ year of post-fellowship clinical experience preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience with child and adolescent behavioral health is required, with partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical record systems, psychiatric documentation, medication management, and treatment planning is required.
