Job Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School Communication & Information. Reporting to the Manager of Academic Administration in the School of Communication and Information, the Program Coordinator I works with faculty department chairs and program directors to support the efficient and effective operations of departments and programs. Conducts planning and data entry for the schedule of classes for academic programs. Generates appointment packets for part-time instructors and prepares them within the HCM system. Coordinates activities related to department and program events. Creates reports and data summaries for administrators, such as graduate admissions applications, and analyzes and archives documents and information. Works with individual faculty to support teaching and research, such as arranging purchases, ordering textbooks, and advising on policies related to travel and expense reimbursements. Salary Details Minimum Salary: $59,893.48 Mid Range Salary: $73,909.48 Maximum Salary: $87,925.48 The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in an educational setting, which must include some experience with academic program administration, course coordination, and administrative functions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with online systems to support educational programming, such as registration systems and course management systems. Strong oral and written communication skills. Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite and other common software applications. Ability to use discretion and tact when interacting with faculty, instructors, and colleagues. Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and effectively utilize software systems, technologies, and processes that support educational programming and administrative operations. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook and Sharepoint. Excel, Access, and Microsoft Office applications. Rutgers online office systems such as RU Marketplace, Course Scheduling System, CourseAtlas, REGIS. Common office equipment such as desktop and laptop computers and copiers. Physical Demands This position will require the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in person and online in support of special events and initiatives. This position will require the ability to lift 25 pounds and rearrange moveable furniture to prepare rooms for events.
