About This Role

Location: DeKalb County

We are seeking a positive and dependable Afterschool Teacher to support children during the hours following their regular school day.

This role combines supervision, enrichment, recreation, and academic support. The right candidate will help children transition from school into a structured but enjoyable afternoon environment.

• Provide attentive supervision throughout afterschool hours
• Welcome children and help them transition into the program
• Assist with homework, reading, and other school-related tasks
• Organize games, crafts, projects, and recreational activities
• Encourage creativity, cooperation, responsibility, and respectful behavior
• Provide age-appropriate guidance when resolving conflicts
• Assist with snacks and scheduled daily routines
• Maintain accurate attendance and program records
• Keep activity spaces clean, safe, and organized
• Observe children's behavior and respond appropriately to their needs
• Maintain professional communication with parents and guardians
• Coordinate with other staff to ensure smooth daily operations
• Follow established safety, childcare, and program procedures

• CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous afterschool teaching experience preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
