Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year critical care experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Ventilator management, IV start, Telemetry, Critical Care Must-Have: Critical care experience required Proficiency in managing complicated postoperative patients required Experience in a trauma center preferred Ability to manage multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation required Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required Description: The position requires a registered nurse to work in the post anesthesia care unit. Shifts include weekdays with rotating start times as needed. RNs will recover surgical patients including, but not limited to, GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, and bariatric surgeries. Proficiency in managing postoperative patients with complex needs is essential. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring vital signs and administering medications as required. RNs must be able to recognize and manage complications effectively. The role involves handling multiple IVs and managing ventilated patients. Candidates should have experience with telemetry and critical care protocols. Call requirements include being available for a set number of hours within a designated schedule. Candidates must be willing to float within their scope to meet facility needs as necessary. This position does not accommodate block scheduling. No weekend shifts are required for this role. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they are first-timers in this specialty area. All required certifications must be obtained prior to the start of employment. A comprehensive understanding of Epic charting system is preferred. Candidates must complete all necessary compliance documents before beginning.
