Position Summary: The Commercial Plumbing Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a field crew installing plumbing systems on commercial construction projects. The Foreman ensures safe, efficient, and high‑quality installation of fully functional plumbing systems, always ensuring work conforms to project plans, specifications and details while incorporating shop drawings and coordinated BIM models. The Foreman serves as the primary field leader for plumbing operations, coordinating with general contractors and other trades, as well as senior leadership, to resolve issues, sequence activities, and deliver work that meets or exceeds company standards. The Foreman is knowledgeable of local codes as well as typical details and specifications. In this hands‑on leadership role, the Foreman maintains jobsite safety, quality control, crew productivity, and proactively stays ahead of the crew by planning daily operations, ordering, organizing, and coordinating materials and equipment, scheduling inspections, laying out work in advance, and all other necessary planning to minimize downtime and disruptions, and maximize productivity. Key Responsibilities: Safety, Leadership, and Supervision: Enforce strict compliance with all company and OSHA safety policies. Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings, pre‑task planning, and weekly toolbox talks. Lead, supervise, and mentor a crew of plumbers/apprentices on active job sites. Train, coach, and mentor teammates on best practices and techniques. Provide clear direction to crew members and assign daily tasks. Identify and mitigate jobsite hazards before work begins. Ensure all crew members use proper PPE and safe work practices. Fill out JHA’s/JSA’s and report to the General Contractor as required for each jobsite. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure proper use of tools, materials, and equipment. Provide on‑the‑job training to apprentices, fostering growth and development. Crew & Project Coordination: Review project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and BIM coordination models to ensure accuracy and alignment of installation. Plan, schedule, and sequence plumbing activities to optimize crew productivity and project efficiency. Communicate daily with senior leadership, general contractors, and other trades to coordinate work, resolve conflicts, and adjust plans as necessary. Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations and the General Contractor’s Superintendent(s). Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations and our own Superintendent/Project Manager. Forecast material, equipment, and manpower needs to keep the project on track. Plan and schedule manpower, material, and equipment as far ahead as possible. Jobsite Preparation: Review plans and specifications and lay out the work as far in advance as possible, but always a minimum of 3 days ahead of crew activities. Stay ahead of the crew with all staking and elevations. Monitor and analyze existing conditions. Work closely with the Superintendent/PM to resolve issues with existing conditions and/or conflicts with the work of other trades. Stay ahead of the crew with material orders and deliveries as far in advance as possible, but always a minimum of 3 days ahead of crew activities. Coordinate with suppliers and truck drivers to ensure timely delivery of materials before they’re needed. Anticipate and stage materials, tools, and equipment before needed. Ensure all necessary permits, locates, and inspections are in place before work starts. Quality Control: Ensure all installations conform to applicable codes, contract documents, and company quality standards. Perform layout, verify dimensions, and check completed work for accuracy. Identify potential issues early and work with project leadership to implement corrective actions. Perform all testing and inspect our work to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and best practices. Correct any deficiencies immediately. Communicate with the Superintendent/PM to make sure inspections are scheduled when needed. Ensure all necessary inspections are approved before any work is covered up. Keep accurate records of inspections and field conditions. Maintain water tests on below‑slab piping and ensure they’re holding solid before, during, and after each concrete pour. Perform pipe camera inspections on all underground systems before each concrete pour and after the building is erected, but before it’s occupied. Ensure proper compaction and backfill techniques are used. Confirm densities are correct. Schedule density testing with GC’s as necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant jobsite. Administrative Duties: Attend weekly subcontractors’ meetings held by the GC onsite. Responsible for daily maintenance and inspections of equipment. Report non‑daily maintenance and repair needs to Equipment Manager immediately when observed. Report any equipment misuse/abuse to Equipment Manager/Superintendent/Project Manager immediately when observed. Communicate proactively with the GC about material deliveries, site conditions, the work of other trades, and any other factors which affect our production. Communicate proactively with our own management about job progress, field issues, delays, and any other factors which affect our production. Prepare and submit weekly time sheets to the Office Manager. Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role on commercial plumbing projects. Extensive knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and best practices. Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction documents, including specifications, shop drawings, and BIM models. Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to adjust plans and lead through changing project conditions. Effective communication skills for interacting with crews, management, general contractors, and other trades. Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety and quality control. State plumbing license (Journeyman or Master) preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to work on active construction sites, including standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and working in varying conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate standard plumbing tools and equipment. Mantenerse adelantado con pedidos y entregas de materiales con la mayor anticipación posible, pero siempre mínimo 3 días antes de las actividades del equipo. Coordinar con proveedores y conductores para garantizar entregas oportunas. Anticipar y organizar materiales, herramientas, y equipo de trabajo antes de que sean necesarios. Asegurar que todos los permisos, localizaciones y revisiones requeridos estén en su lugar antes de iniciar el trabajo. Control de Calidad Garantizar que todas las instalaciones cumplan con los códigos aplicables, documentos contractuales y estándares de calidad de la empresa.
