Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Specialty RN provides perioperative nursing care for pediatric and adult congenital cardiac patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures. The role involves preparing the operating room, supporting surgical teams, and ensuring patient safety throughout surgical interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform scrub and circulating duties for complex cardiac surgeries.
• Prepare the OR by ensuring availability of instruments, equipment, supplies, and implants.
• Support procedures involving cardiopulmonary bypass and collaborate closely with perfusion teams.
• Maintain sterile technique, conduct surgical counts, and perform time-outs with accurate documentation.
• Anticipate intraoperative needs and respond effectively during complex or emergent cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and other surgical staff to promote safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Require perioperative nursing experience, with strong preference for cardiac surgery experience.
• Hold an active Florida RN license or multistate eNLC license in good standing.
• Must have AHA BLS and PALS certifications.
• Prefer candidates with pediatric, congenital, or adult congenital cardiac experience.
• Certification such as CNOR, CPN, or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Availability to participate in the alternating 1st-call and 2nd-call rotation.
