Position Overview

Tisun Beauty Supply is seeking a Cashier Team Lead for our Northpark location in Charlotte, NC.

The Cashier Team Lead will serve as a key member of the store leadership team, providing excellent customer service while helping oversee the daily operations of the front-end/cashier area.

This position is ideal for someone who has strong customer service skills, is comfortable handling cash and transactions, can lead and coach a team, and understands the importance of maintaining a professional, organized, and welcoming retail environment.

The Cashier Team Lead will work closely with store management to ensure cashiers are properly trained, customers are assisted promptly, transactions are handled accurately, and front-end procedures are followed consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Cashier & Customer Service

• Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, mobile, and other approved payment transactions.
• Handle cash responsibly and follow all cash-handling procedures.
• Assist customers with questions, product locations, pricing, promotions, and general store information.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming checkout experience.
• Resolve routine customer concerns professionally and escalate more serious concerns to management.
• Thank customers and encourage a positive shopping experience.
• Maintain awareness of customer traffic and ensure registers are appropriately staffed.

Team Leadership

• Lead and support cashier team members during daily operations.
• Provide direction to cashiers regarding register assignments, breaks, customer service, and front-end priorities.
• Assist with training new cashiers on POS procedures, customer service expectations, cash handling, and store policies.
• Coach team members when additional training or performance improvement is needed.
• Lead by example and demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
• Help maintain team morale and a positive workplace environment.
• Communicate important information from management to cashier team members.
• Assist management with ensuring employees are following company policies and procedures.
• Help monitor attendance, punctuality, and proper coverage of the cashier area.

Cash & Register Responsibilities

• Ensure register transactions are completed accurately.
• Follow company procedures for opening and closing registers.
• Assist with register counts and cash reconciliation as assigned.
• Identify and report discrepancies to management.
• Follow procedures for refunds, exchanges, discounts, voids, and other register adjustments.
• Protect company cash, merchandise, and customer information.
• Report suspected theft, fraud, counterfeit currency, or other irregularities to management.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding cash handling and business operations.

Store Operations

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked checkout area.
• Assist with restocking merchandise when needed.
• Help maintain organized displays and promotional areas.
• Assist other departments and team members during busy periods.
• Support store opening and closing procedures.
• Help ensure the sales floor and front-end remain safe and presentable.
• Assist management with daily operational tasks as assigned.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Customer Experience

• Create a welcoming environment for customers of all backgrounds.
• Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and respect when assisting customers.
• Help customers locate products and direct them to the appropriate department or team member.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional assistance or product recommendations.
• Handle difficult customer situations calmly and professionally.
• Help ensure customers leave the store feeling valued and respected.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or related experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle cash and operate a POS/register system accurately.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to lead, coach, and support other team members.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a work shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise as needed.

Preferred

• Previous cashier lead, keyholder, shift lead, supervisor, or retail leadership experience.
• Experience working in a beauty supply, cosmetics, fashion, or specialty retail environment.
• Experience training or coaching employees.
• Experience with POS systems and cash reconciliation.
• Familiarity with beauty products, haircare, wigs, extensions, braiding hair, cosmetics, or skincare.

Beauty industry experience is a plus but is not required.

Schedule & Availability

This is a full-time retail position .

Candidates must be available to work a retail schedule, which may include:

• Weekdays
• Weekends
• Holidays
• Opening shifts
• Closing shifts
• Peak shopping periods

Schedule will be determined based on store operating needs and business volume.

Physical Requirements

The Cashier Team Lead must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently use hands to operate a register and handle merchandise.
• Bend, reach, and move throughout the store.
• Lift and carry merchandise and supplies as required.
• Work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Maintain attention and professionalism throughout the workday.

Compensation

Starting Range: $14.00/hour

Pay may be adjusted based on relevant experience and qualifications.
