Clinician - PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility)

Position Overview The clinician will work at the Eagle House Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), a 24‑bed step‑down program for children ages 6‑12 with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties due to trauma. The facility provides intensive clinical support, including psychiatry, nursing, individual, group, and family therapy, case management, and special education services over roughly four months. Key Responsibilities Provide individual, group, and family therapy in the program. Collaborate with collateral providers and support multidisciplinary team. Provide on‑call clinical support by phone only during crisis periods. Offer clinical leadership and assistance to direct care staff working with children in crisis. Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with licensing, accreditation, and Medicaid regulations. Attend and facilitate treatment meetings for clients. Manage insurance authorizations, including initial and monthly authorizations. Conduct clinical in‑service trainings for program staff. Participate in regular consultation and training. Engage in intake, assessment, diagnosis, and discharge planning using a trauma‑informed approach. Participate in weekly individual and group supervision to ensure professional growth. Ensure adherence to organizational and program policies and procedures. Contribute clinical guidance to program staff and support agency initiatives. Assist on task forces and represent the Village in community groups or committees. Participate in on‑call rotation with teammates; receive a stipend for weeks on call. After‑hours on‑call services are provided by phone only. Qualifications Education MSW or equivalent required; minimum of 3 years’ post‑graduate clinical experience preferred. Clinical degree in social work, psychology, or another licensed‑eligible counseling degree. Licensure: LMSW, LPCA, LMFTA, or equivalent; licensed‑eligible at minimum. Experience and Skills Independent functioning with ability to seek guidance when necessary. Strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment skills for individual, family, and group therapy. Extensive experience with culturally diverse urban populations across a wide age range and diverse presentations; cultural competency required. Knowledge of behavioral health, child welfare systems, and community resources. Ability to write professional/clinical reports and correspondence. Strong communication skills and ability to speak effectively before groups. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers. Knowledge of DSM‑V. Broad knowledge of empirically validated therapeutic interventions. Professional, confidential work environment maintenance. Multi‑tasking and time‑management abilities. Positive relational skills with children and families. Establish and maintain appropriate boundaries. Work Schedule and Compensation Work hours : Monday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm, includes 1 hour lunch. One day 10 am – 7 pm; flexibility to adjust schedule to meet client needs.
