Media Associate

Media Associate Position: Media Associate (3-5) – salary $12.72 per hour. Qualifications: Previous experience working with media materials/equipment. High school diploma or equivalent. Essential Functions: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Reports to: Media Specialist / Building Administrator. Consults with: Teachers, support staff, and parents. Job Responsibilities Attendance is necessary for success. Complete simple repairs on damaged books. Assist teachers with materials at teacher's request. Assist with scheduling use and delivery of media. Send out overdue notices. Shelve materials. Assist with the annual inventory of media center materials and prepare lists of missing or disposables. Check‑in new materials and equipment (unpack, verify invoices, process). Suggest ordering and maintaining supplies. Oversee general neatness and attractiveness of the media center. Assist students in locating and using materials/equipment and work at the circulation desk as needed. Assist students with the usage of technology. Maintain proper student discipline according to IBI Guidelines for Success. Consult with Technology Coordinator concerning computer management and operation. Organize and promote two book fairs per year. Plan and implement library activities for all students, including storytime and book talks. Perform other duties as assigned. Terms of Employment: Days students are in school and on approval by Superintendent and/or designee as needed before and after the school year. Wage schedules subject to annual review and modification by the Glenwood Board of Education or through the collective bargaining process, if applicable.
