Job Description:

The RN (Registered Nurse) will work on the Telemetry- WC-Surgical/Neuro 4th Floor with responsibilities including direct patient care and interpreting telemetry strips on a unit with 48 beds (two units 4A and 4B). Common patient types include COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetics, Tele, TIA, CVA, as well as general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care and monitor patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once a shift.
• Administer non-titratable drips at set rates such as Diltiazem.
• Utilize Bipap, Cpap, and high flow equipment as needed.
• Float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified.

Requirements:

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience reading basic telemetry strips and with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Ability to use medical equipment such as Bipap, Cpap, and high flow devices.
