Data Engineer

Data Engineer position in Farmington Hills, MI to design, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and relational databases for reporting, analytics, and AI/ML projects, collaborating with the Data Architect and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Design, write, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support applications, reporting, and analytics Build and maintain data pipelines that move and transform data from various sources into our databases Model and maintain relational database schemas that are performant, well-documented, and easy to build on Partner with the Data Architect to extend and improve our overall data architecture Support development, AI/ML, and product teams by providing clean, reliable, well-structured datasets Help build and maintain operational and customer-facing reporting Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance and data quality Contribute to data governance, documentation, and best practices across the team Requirements 2+ years of experience in a data engineering, SQL development, or database-focused role (or a strong equivalent background) Strong SQL skills, including query writing, optimization, stored procedures, and schema design (SQL Server or Azure SQL preferred) Experience designing and maintaining relational databases Experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines Familiarity with the Azure data ecosystem (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory) or a comparable cloud platform Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and data quality practices Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams Technologies SQL SQL Server Azure SQL Azure Data Factory Power BI Python Azure Compensation Salary: USD 75,000 - 100,000 per year Job Type: Full-time Location: Farmington Hills, MI (onsite) Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Referral program Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance About the role We are seeking a Data Engineer to strengthen our data team and provide additional capacity as our platform and data volumes grow.
