Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Ortho/Neuro/Trauma) Location Evansville, IN | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract (13 Weeks) | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48-Hour Option Available Upon Request) | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in an Ortho/Neuro/Trauma unit serving a 44-bed inpatient population including trauma, orthopedic (hip/femur fractures), and neurological (spine, neck, back, rib fractures) cases Perform strong neuro assessments , log rolling, and application of assistive devices such as back braces and immobilizers Perform Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation and PIV insertion as core clinical duties Float within skillset to sister campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats Document and chart using EPIC (checkoff class required upon start) May be required to precept nursing students and new hires, as this is a teaching facility Required Qualifications Active Compact RN License (required at time of submittal) AHA BLS Certification (required at time of submittal) NIHSS Certification (required at time of submittal) Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 full year in ortho, neuro, or trauma Minimum 1 prior travel assignment completed Trauma Level II experience required Recent EPIC charting experience required Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with chest tube and indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), and epidural management Familiarity with PEGs/NGs, Buck's traction, pin site care, On-Q management, and wound care including wound vacs and packing Experience with CIWA protocols and behavioral health patients Step-down experience (required for travelers who must pass a tele competency test) Why Join Us Supportive unit culture where travel nurses are treated as part of the permanent team, with stable leadership in place since 2017 Guaranteed hours each week (except during holidays when the unit is closed), providing consistency and stability throughout your contract Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 776332.
