Travel Registered Nurse Charge Acute Care Job

Overview
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Charge Acute Care) in Geneva, NY. Travel - Temporary Assignment starting 08/17/2026 for 22–26 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,080–$2,162 per week. Shifts rotate 3x12 hours. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital ED. This role requires active RN licensure in New York and relevant ED experience.

Responsibilities
- Perform triage, primary assessment, and initial management for patients across all ages, prioritizing care according to established triage standards (ESI).
- Deliver direct ED nursing care, including invasive and non-invasive procedures, monitoring, medication administration, and life-support interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with patients and families, and coordinate care plans across shifts.
- Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures, discharge planning, and referrals for post-emergency care; provide education to support safe at-home recovery.
- Maintain infection prevention practices, monitor patient progress, and update families with timely status information.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license (NYS RN Licensure)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (must be AHA or RQI)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital RN experience; at least 1 year of ED experience
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced ED environment with rotating day/night shifts
- Demonstrated ability to assess and educate patients and families, document clearly, and work within a team
