Medical Front Desk Staff/Patient Services Representative

The position is the first point of contact for patients and the last point of contact prior to patients leaving. This position is responsible for ensuring that patients are processed in a friendly, professional manner and that all patient demographic and insurance information is accurate and updated each visit. Will also provide clerical functions for patient billing, including verification of insurance information and resolution of problems to ensure a clean billing process.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a passion for healthcare support, patient/client centered care, and are eager to be a contributing team member in a professional healthcare environment.

Job requirements and qualifications:

• Maintains patient demographic information and verifies insurance eligibility information for patients, including copays and deductibles.
• Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies.
• Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
• Valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation to provide support to offsite locations as necessary.
• Excellent computer skills; increased typing speed for efficient data entry
• Experience with phone systems and phone etiquette standards
• Proven experience in a medical or dental front office setting with knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems
• Medical insurance or billing experience a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Job Type: Full-time, on-site, patient-facing role.

Physical Requirements

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• This position requires eyesight (corrected or uncorrected).
• Keying of data requires repetitive hand motion.
• Employees are required to speak and hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch and requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
