Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to acutely ill or injured patients in the ER.

• Assess patient condition, triage, and prioritize treatment needs under ED protocols.

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses according to orders.

• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality improvement standards.

• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to streamline patient flow.

• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to advance clinical skills.

• Assist in care coordination for patient handoffs to inpatient units or discharge planning.

• Operate and troubleshoot ER equipment; recognize and escalate equipment failures.

• Contribute to performance metrics by accurately documenting outcomes and timelines.

• Support bedside care within a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

• Maintain professional appearance of work area and ensure patient privacy and dignity.

Experience/Qualifications

• Current RN license with valid state-specific registration.

• Active ACLS and BLS certifications for ER support.

• Minimum 2 years ER or acute care nursing experience.

• Proficiency in triage, ED protocols, and rapid assessment.

• Ability to document in electronic health records with accuracy.

• Strong medication administration and patient monitoring skills.

• Excellent teamwork and communication with physicians and support staff.

• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and QA metrics.

• Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and escalate ER equipment as needed.

• Comfort with a fast-paced, results-driven environment and KPI focus.
