Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry unit position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with a 60-mile radius requirement.

Details

• work in the Medical Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• Patient population includes hemodynamically stable dysrhythmia, non-STEMI, and post-STEMI patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• RN to patient ratio of 5:1
• Cardiac monitoring with routine nursing assessments and vital signs every 8 hours
• Performs IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Administers cardiac and vasoactive drips including Diltiazem and Metoprolol
• Manages special care procedures including blood transfusions and fluid boluses
• Uses Epic charting system
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri State or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV starts and telemetry monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to medical telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and assistance with physician-performed procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line insertion, and chest tube insertion
• Black scrub color required
• Smoke-free facility
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Every other weekend coverage may be required
