This Is What You’ll Do Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest production standards and ensure facility compliance. Deliver high-quality customer service, maintain a positive donor experience, and uphold donor confidentiality in alignment with company values and SOPs. Review and confirm donor identification, monitor donor conditions, and employ techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality. Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; execute procedures and collection, maintain proper collection ratios, and accurately label units and samples. Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, troubleshoot alarms/alerts, manage adverse donor events, perform QCs, and document exceptions. Disconnect donors and handle the disposal of biohazardous waste and contaminated equipment, including cleaning spills and following safety protocols. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines and removes and/or replaces equipment from service, if needed. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records, including Plasmapheresis Machine Logs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, stock adequate supplies, and perform inventory tasks such as First In, First Out Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management. Mentor and train team members as a Designated Trainer, driving training efficiencies; upon completion of training, support QA-Backup or NexSys Technician duties as required. Partners with Quality Assurance on overall donor floor performance including favorable performance observations, CAPA implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives. This Is What It Takes Minimum Requirements High school diploma, or equivalent (GED). Three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently. Required Certifications, Licenses, And Registrations Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required. Basic computer knowledge and skills required. Able to make accurate and complete documentation. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to perform venipunctures required. Ability to collaborate and adapt. Ability to demonstrate reliability through attendance, punctuality, strong work effort, and schedule flexibility. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Ability to use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens. Ability to view video display terminal less than 18” away from face for extended periods. Ability to work in an environment with a temperature of -40C or colder for extended periods. Occasional exposure to and handling of dry ice. Ability to perform precise tasks that require repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests. Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication. Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis required. Ability to use a computer and other office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to focus and concentrate on tasks for extended periods. Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable). Ability to travel up to 20% via airplane and vehicle (if applicable). Pay Transparency The expected base pay for this position at hiring is Min: $26.81, Mid: $35.75, Max: $44.69. Please note this wage range reflects what Octapharma Plasma expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors. Do Satisfying Work.
