Maintenance technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production line and packaging equipment. You will perform critical preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems, and mentor operators and junior mechanics to maintain smooth daily operations.

salary: $58,000 - $62,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA standards and internal workplace safety procedures during all maintenance operations.
• Complex System Repair: Diagnose, service, and repair high-level electrical and mechanical components across packaging machinery, conveyances, and electrical control panels.
• Preventive Maintenance (PM): Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance routines efficiently to minimize operational downtime.
• System Troubleshooting: Analyze, isolate, and resolve operational issues in active mechanical and electrical conveyor systems through visual and acoustic diagnostics.
• Operational Readiness: Manage daily start-up and shutdown sequences for facility equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Detailed Record-Keeping: Record and track maintenance logs, component installations, parts inventory usage, machine calibration adjustments, and ongoing technical projects.
• Continuous Improvement: Partner with leadership to refine standard operating procedures, boost maintenance workflow efficiency, and maximize machine uptime.
• Technical Mentorship: Deliver daily practical, hands-on training and technical guidance to machine operators and maintenance mechanics.
• Operational Support: Adapt to operational demands by executing additional technical and facility tasks as assigned.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 10 hours at one time
• working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week
• working weekends

• Mechanical Maintenance (5 years of experience is required)
