Available Shifts

• First Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Second Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Qualifications

• Must have a clear and valid driver’s license.
• Previous experience working with the mental health or substance use population is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach to care.

Job Description

CBH is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team at our PHP location in Fort Lauderdale. The BHT plays an essential role in supporting patients throughout their treatment by providing supervision, maintaining a safe environment, and assisting with the implementation of individualized treatment plans.

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will:

• Provide direct care, support, and close supervision of patients while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behaviors, activities, and progress in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with patients, coworkers, and members of the treatment team.
• Assist with the implementation of patient treatment plans and therapeutic activities as directed by the clinical team.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary and appropriate.
• Utilize active listening and effective communication skills when interacting with patients.
• Serve as a positive role model by maintaining appropriate boundaries, tone, language, and professional conduct.
• Provide positive reinforcement and encourage appropriate behaviors and participation in treatment.
• Promote a positive peer culture and therapeutic environment among patients.
• Maintain continuous awareness of patient needs and report significant changes in behavior or condition to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Participate actively as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow all CBH policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the patient environment.
• Work closely with the BHT Supervisor and department leadership to meet departmental goals and provide quality patient care.
