Brief Information

• The position supports the Procurement Analytics team within Business Intelligence and Analytics.
• The team is currently building an AI chatbot that presently retrieves information from a single data product containing spend data.
• The team's objective is to expand the chatbot so it can retrieve information from multiple enterprise data products.
• One of the primary challenges is enabling the chatbot to intelligently traverse multiple data domains while understanding the business context behind the data.
• The chatbot must accurately connect information across different domains, such as spend, material, and supplier data, while avoiding incorrect relationships and ensuring that related data is joined appropriately using common identifiers, such as Supplier ID.
• In addition to the chatbot initiative, the team has other Artificial Intelligence projects currently in progress that require support.
• The individual will work closely with the Data Scientists on the Procurement Analytics client team.
• The individual will provide hands-on support for projects that are currently in progress.
• The individual will help brainstorm and evaluate additional Artificial Intelligence ideas that could become part of the team's future AI roadmap.
• The role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with continuous learning opportunities.
• The individual will partner closely with the team's Data Engineers, who will provide access to enterprise data sources and explain the business context of various systems and data sources, including SAP and other internal platforms.
• The team is looking for an experienced Data Scientist who can help the business bring its Artificial Intelligence ideas to life.

Qualifications & Requirements / Skillset

• Strong hands-on experience as a Data Scientist is required.
• Strong experience with Python , SQL , and PySpark is required.
• Experience with Machine Learning is required.
• Experience with DataIQ is highly preferred and is the Hiring Manager's highest technical priority.
• Experience with AWS is required.
• Experience with Apache Spark , NumPy , TensorFlow , and AWS SageMaker is preferred.
• Experience with Artificial Intelligence , including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technologies, is preferred.
• Experience developing or supporting AI chatbots is considered a nice-to-have but is not required.
• Experience working with Natural Language Processing (NLP) is required.
• Experience working with Amazon Redshift is preferred.
• Experience using DataIQ Web Apps to develop dashboards and chatbot solutions is preferred.
• Experience with Power BI is beneficial.
• Experience working with technologies that integrate with Claude and ChatGPT is preferred.
• Strong communication skills are required, including the ability to explain technical concepts and recommend alternative technical approaches when appropriate.
• Strong expectation management skills are required.
• Strong prioritization skills are required.
• Candidates should be able to communicate realistic delivery timelines and manage business expectations effectively.
• Candidates should be comfortable setting realistic expectations early in a project and should avoid overcommitting to deliverables.
• A Bachelor's degree is not considered a strict requirement if the candidate possesses sufficient hands-on Data Science experience.
• Candidates from any industry will be considered, provided they possess strong Data Science experience.
• Candidates should be able to contribute with minimal onboarding due to the team's limited onboarding timeframe.
