Lead Mail Room Clerk

Position ResponsibilitiesRecords all certified insured and registered mail according to postal regulations.Identifies appropriate codes on out going metered mail.Files records in organized manner.Reports monthly and weekly accountable traffic.Assists with unloading and sorting post office pick-up.Maintains and updates attending and department mail slots by group.Updates cost center information as given by department head.Identifies residents and fellows and assign mailboxes.Organizes incoming mail and post to correct slots.Labels envelopes for physician mailing.Stuffs and sorts contents for mailing.Audits physician groups and addresses.Assembles bulk mailing by zip code to 5 digits.Prepares paperwork for bulk processing according to postal regulations.Weights articles to determine changes.Assists window patrons with correct information and directions in a clear and efficient manner.Provides appropriate mailing instructions.Answers questions professionally and correctly.Assists with sorting of mail from post office as well as pick up and drop off form the departments as needed.Arrives to work on time and ready for the work shift.Provides required documentation and notification of expected absence at least 4 hours prior to starting time or as established by departmental policies.Does not experience absences which adversely affect the ability of the department to satisfactorily perform its essential job functions.Adheres to times allotted for breaks and meals, and returns to work at designated times.Participants in Mount Sinai's Corporate Compliance Program and any seminars or educational programs offered by Mount Sinai in order to maintain an awareness of laws and regulations affecting the department.Engages in honest and ethical conduct and comply with Mount Sinai's Corporate Compliance Program and all applicable states and federal law, rules and regulations.Cooperates with Mount Sinai's Director of Compliance with respect to inquiries and investigations regarding compliance issues.Ensures all mail center locations are serviced.QualificationsLicense/Registration/Certification:Valid Florida Drivers LicenseEducation:High School Diploma or equivalent degree required.Experience:3 years experience in mail handling.BenefitsWe believe in the physical and mental well-being of our employees and are committed to offering comprehensive benefits that fit their personal needs:Health benefitsLife insuranceLong-term disability coverageHealthcare spending accountsRetirement planPaid time offPet InsuranceTuition reimbursementEmployee assistance programWellness programOn-site housing for select positions and more!
