Core in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but will be determined by business needs.Mid-Continent Group is seeking a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our Underwriting team.**Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities*** Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with Company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.* Analyze risk data to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms.* Collaborate with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify details.* Order and review additional reports and screens, such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, outside inspections, etc., to inform decisions.* Ensure proper documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.* Evaluate existing policies for potential renewal or modification.* Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to internal teams, agents, and brokers.* Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.* Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers, focusing on generating new business and retaining profitable business.* Interpret, explain, and market products and services.* Perform other related duties.**Job Requirements*** Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.* Generally, 5 years of related Commercial General Liability, Automobile, Excess/Umbrella, and Inland Marine experience is required.* Commercial underwriting experience required, energy (renewable and green energy, upstream and midstream oil & gas) underwriting preferred, but not necessary.* Completion of or progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS), or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).**Company:**MCC Mid-Continent Casualty Company**Benefits:**We offer competitive benefits packages for full-time and part-time employees\*.
