Job Summary The Department Specialist is responsible for maintaining merchandise availability, ensuring accurate inventory, and providing exceptional customer service in the assigned department(s). The role includes stocking, cycle counting, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and stock area. Responsibilities Project a positive and professional representation of Westlake Ace Hardware. Proactively assist customers in solving problems and greet them throughout the store. Maintain product knowledge and store layout awareness. Answer calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; forward unresolvable complaints to management. Perform cycle counting and maintain desirable inventory levels in assigned department(s). Receive, check in, and stock merchandise accurately. Maintain back‑stock levels and assist with daily floor and stockroom cleanliness. Ensure weekly price changes, monthly cycle counts, and negative on‑hand reports are completed. Reset merchandise, update signage, and operate forklifts with proper training. Communicate issues to management, participate in store meetings, and contribute merchandising or cost‑control ideas. Floor sales and/or replenishment experience in a retail environment preferred. Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs, and climb. Compliance with all safety and operational procedures, including forklift operation. Compensation $19.00 – $20.00 per hour.
