Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Pay & Benefits $38.42-$63.35 hourly wage based on experience and education Relocation assistance up to $7,500 Temporary housing for 90 days Shift differential, annual increases, paid time off Medical, vision, dental, 401(k) with employer match Tuition assistance, student loan forgiveness Onsite gym, wellness programs, discount programs Full‑time nights, 36 hr/week, 12 hr shifts Responsibilities Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history and physical with patient/family; ensure completion within appropriate timeframe. Formulate and initiate a plan of care based on assessment data and patient, family, and health team input; develop realistic, measurable goals. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team; provide care in compliance with policies, standards of care and regulatory requirements. Promote continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating patient status to other caregivers. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revise the plan of care as needed; assess progress toward goals and expected outcomes. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure documentation is legible, timely and follows policy. Provide care based on best evidence; may participate in research activities; participate in unit or facility shared leadership. Interact and participate in orientation of facility personnel, patients, families, visitors; act as preceptor or mentor when appropriate. Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes and improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes; may participate in professional organizations. Supervise staff and workflow of the department in some roles. Qualifications Valid current or temporary Alaska RN license. Associate’s degree in nursing (knowledge and skills normally demonstrated by this degree). BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, or additional certification and/or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Creative thinking, prioritizing, flexible problem‑solving skills. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Professional certification preferred. Experience working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
