Logistics Specialist I

We are seeking candidates for the position of Logistics Specialist I in our Sales Order Creation (SOC) or Document Control (DOC) Teams at the Indianapolis site This position requires a willingness to learn in-depth understanding of governmental contractual requirements in order to create and ship end item deliverables. Produces documentation to obtain customer acceptance and provide the necessary data to invoice the customer for billing. The documentation may include the DD250, DD1149, DD1348, an International Commercial Shipper and/or a Domestic Commercial Shipper. Position requires a high degree of accuracy, patience and due diligence. Team oriented environment. Position also includes cross functional duties within receiving, shipping, and inventory/material control. Responsibilities The following is a sample of the various tasking required of the Logistics Specialist I. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasking work environment. Demonstrate ability to interface with a wide variety of internal and external customers, peers, and management in order to deliver results in assigned areas. Successful experience with being tactful and diplomatic in regard to assisting customers. Responsible decision making with minimal supervision. Intermediate knowledge & experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Perform research and analysis in a variety of systems. Create a shipment and review for WAWF. Adhere to customer requirements for the delivery of contractual deliverables. Ability to be flexible and adaptive to learning new job responsibilities and tasks. Qualifications Education / Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 2 years’ experience evaluating MRP requirements and planning of tasking. Knowledge of Logistics practices. SAP applications including Horizon, S4 DFARS Appendix F. Knowledge and functionality of Wide Area Workflow (WAWF). S4 Shipping processes. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must. Security Clearance & Other Requirements: Ability to access systems with information restricted to U.S. citizens per federal contract requirements is required. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
