PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Conduct operator new‑hire orientation and deliver introductory training sessions on manufacturing expectations, safety requirements, and basic plant procedures
• Teach new hires how to properly and safely use basic hand tools and manufacturing equipment
• Facilitate simulated work‑environment training that mirrors real production tasks, workflow, and problem-solving scenarios
• Assess trainee ability levels and provide coaching, correction, and reinforcement to ensure understanding and skill competency
• Maintain training tools, materials, and simulated workstations to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for training use
• Provide on‑the‑job training (OJT) for operators after initial orientation, supporting their transition to assigned work areas
• Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to understand job requirements and customize training based on production needs
• Monitor trainee progress, documenting performance, skill development, and readiness for job placement
• Identify skill gaps or safety concerns and take appropriate action to correct them during training
• Support continuous improvement of the training program, including updating content, materials, and training methods
• Serve as a point of contact for new employees, offering guidance and support during their onboarding period
• Conduct daily meetings to communicate goals, performance expectations, and operational updates
• Support new product launches, process improvements, and change management initiatives

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS  

• Prior experience in manufacturing operations, production, or industrial training
• Strong understanding of basic hand tools, torque tools, and general mechanical processes used in production environments
• Ability to clearly explain, demonstrate, and coach hands‑on tasks in a way that is accessible to new learners
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills
• Ability to work in simulated and live production environments
• Comfortable providing feedback and corrective instruction
• Commitment to safety, quality, and standardized work practices
• Ability to collaborate with supervisors, leads, and HR in support of onboarding requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS  

• Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee may have to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
• Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
• Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
• Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
• Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
• Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
