Clinical Staff - Nursing

This is an Inpatient/Rounding position. The PA will extend the patient care and administrative services for UAMS physicians in both inpatient and/or outpatient settings. APP will be expected provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments. The PA will also manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with the designated physicians. The PA will work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient's health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. The PA will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Summary of Job Duties:

Provides healthcare services to patients which may include: comprehensive care during acute and chronic episodes of injury and illness, follow up care during post-hospital clinic appointments, education and counseling of families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other health care providers and community resources when appropriate.

Participates in institutional initiatives and encourages the participation of others.

Collaborates in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation using best practices in delivering quality service.

Works autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of disciplines to diagnose and manage health care problems; will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.

Communicates and shares complete and unbiased information, assuring their colleagues receive timely, complete, and accurate information in order make informed decisions.

Coordinates the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Actively engage in service line meetings and take an approach to health care that shapes policies, programs, facility design, and day-to-day interactions.

Maintains required audits for credentialing.

Engages in appropriate continuing education programs, maintain mandatory competencies, medical center computer based learning modules, and health monitoring services.

Performs other duties as assigned.
