Registered Nurse - Home Health

Job TitleMajor duties include but are not limited to:Delivery of care is in accordance with the established standards, policies, and procedures consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care.Provides consultation and guidance and acts as a liaison to staff, nursing homes, and other health care providers regarding patient needs in the community/home setting and in the interpretation of VA rules and regulations.Assesses and charts observations of the veteran's condition at each visit.Completes evaluation tasks that include medication review, vital signs, wound care, and other duties within the RN scope.Administers medication as prescribed by provider.Coordinates plan of care with providers, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.Willing to work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments.Makes caring for the veteran his/her priority while in the work setting and demonstrates customer service principles in all aspects of work.This position RN may be required to perform home health aide tasks and homemaking tasks if indicated.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package:Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pmTelework: Not AvailableVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not AuthorizedThe VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers.
