Social Media Coordinator & Content Creator

Role Description: The Social Media Coordinator & Content Creator is a full-time, on-site role based in Caldwell, with travel to Fairfield and Newark, NJ. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing engaging content across social media channels to showcase Calandra's Bakery products, promotions, and brand story. Day-to-day tasks include capturing photos and short-form videos in-store, writing captions and post copy, scheduling posts, monitoring comments and messages, and responding to customer inquiries in a professional manner. The coordinator will track basic metrics, support digital campaigns, and collaborate with bakery leadership to align content with business goals, seasonal offerings, and community events. This position may also assist with website updates, email content, and in-store promotional materials as needed. Social Media Management Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok Manage social media accounts across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, including content planning, creation, scheduling, publishing, community engagement, and performance tracking . Develop and maintain content calendars using Notion , planning content in advance and scheduling approximately 5-6+ posts per day across our platforms. Use Meta Business Suite to schedule and publish content across Facebook and Instagram. Stay current on social media trends, trending sounds, platform updates, and emerging content formats to create timely and engaging content. Monitor direct messages and respond to customer questions, requests, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Monitor comments and respond to questions, feedback, and negative comments while maintaining a professional and consistent brand voice. Repost and reshare tagged customer content, Stories, and posts. Search for and curate relevant user-generated content, including wedding cakes, birthday cakes, celebrations, events, and restaurant experiences. Maintain and regularly update Instagram Highlights . Create and manage Facebook Events for upcoming events, holidays, promotions, and recurring specials. Manage and update Linktree and other social media links as needed. Track social media performance and engagement to identify what content is performing well and opportunities for improvement. Maintain a consistent brand voice, visual presence, and overall look across all social media platforms. Content Curation & Creation Coordinate photoshoots with managers and staff across 3 bakeries, 3 restaurants, and 1 deli . Capture original photo and video content using an iPhone, including food, products, events, behind-the-scenes moments, and customer experiences. Plan and communicate photoshoot needs, including products, dishes, promotions, events, and seasonal content. Film, edit, and publish engaging short-form video content for Instagram Reels and TikTok . Coordinate with our outside marketing company to plan and oversee photo and video content. Help direct photoshoots and video shoots to ensure content aligns with our brand and marketing goals. Attend select weeknight and weekend events to capture photo and video content for social media. Capture behind-the-scenes moments, event highlights, customer experiences, food, and promotional content during events. Curate and repost relevant user-generated content, including customer photos, celebrations, wedding cakes, events, and restaurant experiences. Identify new and creative content opportunities across all bakery, restaurant, and deli locations. Influencer Relations Research and identify relevant local influencers and content creators for upcoming promotions and campaigns. Reach out to influencers and coordinate collaborations. Manage influencer communication, contracts, payments, deadlines, and content approvals. Track influencer deliverables and ensure agreed-upon content is received and posted. Monitor comments and engagement on influencer posts and help address customer questions or concerns. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. Previous experience managing social media for a business, brand, restaurant, hospitality company, or similar organization. Strong knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Experience with Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling. Strong understanding of current social media trends and short-form video content. Proficiency in Canva and CapCut . Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel. Strong written communication and copywriting skills. Photography, videography, and photo/video editing experience. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple locations, accounts, and deadlines. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with managers, employees, influencers, customers, photographers, and outside vendors. Strong eye for aesthetics, branding, and visual storytelling.
