Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse

• Maintain 24-hour accountability for the quality of care of clients
• Complete physical & mental health assessments, as indicated by Part 820 regulations
• Administer and monitor treatment regimens and prescribed medications
• Observe and report behavioral changes
• Maintain control of drugs and medications
• Triage emergent client medical issues and coordinate care with healthcare providers
• Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely
• Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses
• Respect cultural and religious practices of patients
• Ensure OASAS/Medicaid regulatory compliance, collaborate on Quality Assessment and Improvement Activities

Requirements of the Registered Nurse

• Associates Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred
• BLS Certification required
• Successful completion of CPI training within 3 months of hire
• Successful completion of medication competency exam
• Specialties: Med-Surg and Psych required, Rehab preferred
• Certifications: BLS and CPI required
