Job PostingThe BMET assists in the operation, support and repair of clinical equipment, and supports the Clinical Technology ProgramDepartment: Clinical Engineering Work Hours: Monday - Friday daylight; on-call requiredBasic Function: The BMET assists in the operation, support and repair of clinical equipment, and supports the Clinical Technology ProgramQualifications: Required: The BMET will possess a good understanding of health care practices, and safety. Has a working knowledge of human physiology and anatomy. Has considerable knowledge of the latest and most advanced troubleshooting, calibration and repair techniques. Has considerable knowledge of electronics, including solid state technology and both linear and digital circuit operations.An AAS degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent is required. Minimum of five years experience in the maintenance of clinical equipment.Preferred: Seven to ten years experience in a health care environment. Certification eligible. Possess considerable knowledge of a broad range of biomedical equipment. Possess a working knowledge of all applicable Federal, State, TJC, OSHA and NFPA regulations, standards and guidelines.
