Tax Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to support tax preparation and filing activities for a Contract position based in New York, New York. This opportunity is ideal for someone with public accounting experience who can manage both individual and corporate tax work with accuracy, strong organization, and a client-focused approach. The role involves preparing returns, reviewing financial information, and using tax software to help maintain timely and compliant filings.Responsibilities:• Prepare and complete individual and corporate tax returns with careful attention to accuracy and applicable tax regulations.• Review financial records, source documents, and supporting schedules to gather the information needed for complete and timely filings.• Organize tax workpapers and maintain clear documentation to support return preparation and compliance requirements.• Use CCH ProSystem and related tax preparation tools to process returns, track data, and manage assigned engagements efficiently.• Identify discrepancies, missing details, or potential filing issues and follow up to resolve them before submission.• Coordinate with internal team members or clients to obtain necessary tax information and clarify reporting questions.• Help ensure deadlines are met by managing multiple returns and prioritizing assignments during busy filing periods.
