COMPENSATION: $45,517 to $92,949 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

The Financial Analyst serves the Association's internal and external customers by preparing and analyzing financial loan packages for system and manual underwriting decisions in a timely manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Financial Analysts construct value-added credit analyses for all levels and types of operations.

How You Will Spend Your Time

• Confirm, assemble, and build financial analyses utilizing balance sheets, tax returns, income statements, and cash flow statements into the Association's portfolio management database for Retail Ag customers.
• Construct after-close balance sheets, analysis summaries, and consolidated financial information.
• Utilize critical thinking and sound decision-making while maintaining strong credit administration.

• Provide financial analysis support for Credit Officers, Retail, Rural 1st, Special Accounts, or Agribusiness Teams. Analyze, service, and monitor loans of varying risk and complexity including larger loan amounts that may be more complex and/or have higher risk exposure.
• Receive loan information and conduct other analysis, research and/or calculations, as needed, before financial analysis is constructed in the system e.g., multiple entity loans, cash flow calculations, income statement preparation, prepared tax returns, and/or specialty input work.

• Provide an exceptional customer experience by working in conjunction with sales and credit partners to understand customer goals, financial information, credit strengths and weaknesses, and deliver value-added constructive lending to our customers and prospective customers.
• Convey and support analysis decisions to sales and credit partners in a way that they can effectively communicate and serve the customer.

• Participate in cross-collaboration with internal customers. May assist with cross-training and mentoring new employees. May serve in roles for special projects.
• Respond to inquiries from teammates and represent the team on cross-functional teams throughout the Association.

May perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience

Four year college degree preferred and/or a combination of related experience or specialized training may be considered. Exhibits a good understanding of technology and is able to apply it efficiently and effectively to achieve business objectives. An understanding of balance sheets, income information, trend analysis, and products preferred.

Mental & Physical Requirements

• A general working knowledge of Association credit policies, procedures, standards, credit extension and administration processes
• Basic knowledge of financial principles and their application to credit delivery
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
• Ability to appropriately handle highly confidential materials
• Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong and professional customer service skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to initiate, organize, and prioritize work
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate team-building attitude and skills
• Ability to use credit-related computer systems and software applications
• Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer
• Limited overnight travel and irregular hours required as needed
