Oakland, CA | Level IV NICU (Acute Care / Teaching Hospital)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level IV NICU open bay unit setting
• Float to pediatric floors as needed, caring for patients under 1 year of age
• May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within the system as needed, provided requisite job specifications are met
• Complete non-billable orientation modules prior to start and annually as required by unit/specialty
• Document patient care using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN License — must be in hand at time of submittal
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Level III and Level IV NICU experience
• PICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Any prior employment with any University of California medical facility or affiliated/acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submittal; no additional RTO requests will be accepted mid-contract, and RTO may not fall within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
• Local candidates are welcome and are subject to the same rates as travel candidates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric nursing experience
• Familiarity with high-acuity neonatal and pediatric patient populations
