Senior Data Scientist

The Senior Data Scientist will lead the implementation and configuration of Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) governance and marketplace solutions. This role involves developing data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data cataloging to enable self-service data discovery and consumption. The candidate will collaborate with business and technical teams to translate governance policies into technical solutions, support proof of concept (POC) delivery, and drive transition to production environments. Responsibilities:

• Configure and implement Informatica governance capabilities including Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Data Marketplace, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Quality integrations, and Data Stewardship workflows.
• Develop and maintain Data Marketplace solutions to support self-service data discovery and consumption.
• Build metadata ingestion pipelines and automate metadata harvesting from source systems.
• Configure workflows, approval processes, and governance controls within Informatica.
• Work with stakeholders to define governance requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support the creation and maintenance of data domains, ownership models, stewardship assignments, and data classifications.
• Implement data governance standards, controls, and best practices.
• Plan and execute phased governance and marketplace proof of concept (POC) projects.
• Assist with requirements gathering, solution design, and scope definition for governance initiatives.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate governance capabilities with platforms such as Azure Data Platform, SQL Server, and Power BI.
• Document technical configurations, produce guides, and support knowledge transfer activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and work closely with business analysts and governance stakeholders.

• 5+ years of experience in data management, metadata management, or data governance solutions.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica tools.
• Experience implementing Informatica Data Catalog, Data Governance & Catalog, Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC), or Data Marketplace.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, master data management, data quality principles, and data lineage.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience integrating Informatica with cloud and on-premises data sources.
• Experience working in Agile project environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge business and technical teams.

• Experience with Azure Cloud and Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK data governance principles.
• Experience implementing enterprise data catalogs and marketplaces.
• Familiarity with data privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Informatica certification(s).
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated industries.
• Experience with Informatica EDC (Enterprise Data Catalog), Power BI, data quality and data observability tools, API integrations, and metadata automation.

• Must be a self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Strong focus on delivery, documentation, and requirements analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile environments and participate in sprint planning and ceremonies.

• Work schedule aligned with Agile project timelines and sprint cycles.
• May require collaboration across different time zones depending on stakeholder locations.
