Job Description:

Seeking a hands-on Project Manager and Product owner to lead a complex data technology transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of program management, product ownership, and stakeholder leadership skills to drive strategic products and enterprise programs from conception to execution.

This role will be responsible managing a multi-million-dollar program, aligning business and technology roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Product Owner

• Product Vision & Strategy
  • Define and execute the product vision, roadmap, business outcomes and strategy
  • Drive adoption of enterprise data management practices and data-driven decision-making.
• Product Backlog & Requirements Management
  • Gather requirements from business and technology stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain key project artifacts, including user stories, API specifications, process flows, prototype designs, and other functional documentation.
  • Translate requirements into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage Backlog - Create, groom, and prioritize user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in the product backlog to reflect business value and changing needs
  • Independently maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and strategic objectives.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple data and technology teams.
• Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Communicate roadmap progress, risks, and delivery outcomes.
  • Facilitate consensus across cross-functional teams and competing priorities.
  • Partner with Scrum Masters, developers, UX designers, and stakeholders during daily standups, sprint planning, and reviews

Project Manger

Program & Project Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Finance Data Hub program across the development life cycle from initiation through production deployment including scope management, planning, resource allocation, dependency management, integration, and scheduling.
• Collaborate closely with track leads and Scrum master to maintain project plans, identify constraints and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks and issues, manage dependencies, and drive timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, dependencies, resource plans, and budgets.
• Establish and participate in program governance, steering committee forums, and executive reporting mechanisms.
• Manage scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved
• Translate business objectives into project deliverables and execution plans.
• Facilitate requirements gathering, prioritization, and decision-making workshops.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communication across business and technology teams.
• Foster collaboration among business, product, engineering, and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes and delivery excellence.

Project Governance & Communication

• Establish and maintain project governance processes, including resource capacity, schedule management, risk tracking, executive reporting, and cross-functional dependency management across Data Engineering, Platform, and Compliance teams.
• Drive data governance, data stewardship, and data ownership frameworks.
• Establish controls around financial data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and auditability.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams.
• Drive effective project communication and reporting across internal and external stakeholders, including preparation of executive-level updates and leadership communications.

Risk and Issue Management

• Proactively identify program risks and mitigation strategies.
• Manage RAID logs and dependency tracking.
• Escalate critical issues and facilitate resolution across teams.
• Ensure project health metrics are consistently monitored and reported.

Work and Technical Experience:

• 12+ years of total experience with at least 7+ years of hands-on Product Owner experience
• Strong project management experience across the SDLC leveraging Agile project management
• Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams
• Proven analytical, communication and leadership skills
• Strong hands-on experience as a Product Owner in a scaled agile environment, including PI Planning, backlog refinement, cross-team dependency management, sprint execution and alignment with Product Management, RTEs, Scrum Masters, architects, and delivery teams.
• Include require direct ownership of backlog prioritization, story readiness, acceptance criteria, scope trade-offs, and acceptance or rejection of delivered work.
• Project delivery expertise on data engineering, data migration, data foundation buildout and data analytics using BI tools
• Expertise in project management processes and communication including tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps.
• Client stakeholder management to ensure program deliverables are achieved
• Conduct detailed impact analysis on new requirements to ensure all dependencies are addressed
• Tracking and delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders
• Communication with business users to understand the requirements and complete associated requirements documentation for technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP and Product Owner Certification (CSPO/PSPO).
• Knowledge of insurance process flows
• Experience in corporate finance projects
• Experience with an ERP modernization initiative
• Finance domain expertise General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Assets, etc.
• Others Data Governance & Quality, Analytics and reporting enablement, experience on scalable integration with upstream (ERP and other source systems) and downstream systems
