Fitness Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Under general supervision maintains fitness and cardiovascular equipment. Greets, interacts and assists customers with fitness equipment. Setting up, putting away and cleaning of equipment. Provides customer service to all members and visitors in a safe and helpful manner. Promotes and assists with various programs, classes and activities. Enforces rules and regulations of the facility.

Performs routine maintenance on fitness equipment; Inspects equipment and area daily to make recommendations for repairs and safety; Watches for hazardous conditions and ensures that maintenance or housekeeping problems are addressed; Maintains fitness center by preparing facility for customers by opening various areas; Clean and disinfect equipment and facility for safe operations. Provides excellent customer service by greeting participants. Provides assistance to patrons with fitness equipment, programs and class schedules; Teaches equipment orientation and gives patron instruction for the safe use of all machines and equipment; Performs tasks in accordance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Monitors and enforces policies and procedures; Receives and responds to questions and concerns from patrons. Assists Fitness Coordinator in the development and implementation of fitness programs to meet the needs of the community; Conducts and monitors fitness program activities and classes. Assists in a variety of administrative tasks; Maintains accurate program records and reports; Enters registration information into computer system.

High School Education or equivalent; and, None to one year of experience; or, Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Necessary- Valid Driver's License, First Aid to include CPR and AED Certification Desirable- Personal Trainer Certification

Monitors supply levels and communicates facility needs with Supervisor and Facility Maintenance Employee. Assists supervisor with fitness programs offered by the city. Assists front desk staff as needed. Completes ongoing HR and IT training required by the city in the time frame allowed Performs other related duties as assigned.
