About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Location

Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) across a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated Neuro beds
• Manage patients presenting with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative conditions
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
• Support care of patients on chronic ventilators in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
• Float to other units as required to meet staffing needs
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (verified and in good standing)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU setting
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Up-to-date resume documenting relevant experience and travel history, skills checklist matching specialty, and NURSYS license verification required at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an IMCU or PCU setting
• Experience with neurological patient populations
• Familiarity with chronic ventilator management and respiratory support equipment
