Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Medical Acute Care Unit serving a general medical patient population
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4/5 on day shift in collaboration with Patient Care Technicians available 24 hours per day
• Monitor patients on telemetry as needed; bedside RNs are not required to read strips as a central monitoring station with dedicated monitor techs is in place
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care across all shifts
• Float to other units as needed, with travel RNs serving as first to float per unit rotation policy
• Fulfill holiday requirements as assigned throughout the contract period

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• General Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; placement is on a drug-free campus

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a general medical or medical-surgical inpatient setting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and Phillips telemetry systems
• Experience working in high-census environments with PCT support
