Position Title: Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist


Location: Anacortes, WA 98221


Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Monday - Friday

Duration: 6 months + contract extensions

Position Summary


We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in Anacortes, Washington. This role is responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, specimen processing, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and maintaining laboratory supplies while delivering exceptional patient care.


The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a positive patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients of all ages.
• Process, label, and prepare specimens for testing and transport.
• Manifest and track laboratory samples to ensure proper handling and delivery.
• Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) as ordered by providers.
• Conduct Point-of-Care (POC) testing and accurately document results.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory and patient safety protocols.
• Order, organize, and stock laboratory and clinical supplies.
• Ensure work areas, equipment, and supplies remain clean and adequately stocked.
• Accurately document patient information and testing activities.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and efficient patient care.
• Support clinic operations and collaborate with healthcare providers and staff.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current MAP License.
• Demonstrated phlebotomy experience and proficiency.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Certifications / Licenses Required

Work Environment

• Clinical/Healthcare setting

• Work performed at a single location
• No home health or patient home visits
