Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to receive, inspect, store, and distribute materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting daily warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate has previous forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following quality, safety, and warehouse procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport products throughout the warehouse.
• Receive incoming shipments and inspect materials for accuracy against shipping manifests and purchase orders.
• Process receipts, putaways, order picking, replenishments, and inventory transactions using warehouse computer systems.
• Package, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to company procedures.
• Verify product quantities and inspect materials for damage or discrepancies.
• Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or shipping issues to Inventory Control or warehouse management.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to properly disposition incoming materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete required warehouse documentation.
• Read and follow picking sheets, product labels, and written operating procedures.
• Operate manual pallet jacks, electric forklifts, rolling pushcarts, and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow all company safety policies, Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with inventory control activities, cycle counts, and general warehouse operations as needed.
• Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous forklift experience required.
• Forklift certification preferred or the ability to become certified through company-provided training.
• Previous warehouse, shipping and receiving, distribution, or material handling experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and experience entering inventory transactions.
• Ability to perform basic math and accurately count inventory.
• Ability to read and understand product labels, picking sheets, and written work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment while following all safety procedures.
