VP, Compliance Officer - AI/ML Data Scientist Fair Lending and Fairness Tier 2 and Tier 3 Model[...]

Serves as a function/business/product compliance risk officer for fair lending and fairness model review for tier 2 and tier 3 models that are considered lower fair lending risk, including AI/ML natural language processing (NLP) models and many third party models. Responsible for assisting with internal strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to prevent violations of law, rule, or regulation and design and deliver a risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the firm's risk appetite and protect the franchise. Engages with the ICRM Product and Function coverage teams, in order to partner to develop and apply CRM program solutions that meet the function/business/product and customer needs in a manner consistent with the Citi program framework. Primary responsibilities focus on evaluating models used throughout the lending life cycle for compliance with fair lending and fairness regulations in the United States and maintaining proper documentation and work papers. The candidate will be part of the Fair Lending Model Review team focusing on evaluation of input data used in models, clearly documenting, and articulating the model usage boundaries to the key stakeholders. The candidate will be a key member of the Office of Fair Lending and Privacy, ICRM team, which has responsibility for the enterprise-wide fair lending ICRM program that spans across Citi’s US lending businesses Responsibilities: Assisting in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class Compliance, programs, policies, and practices related to fairness model review for ICRM. Develop processes to evaluate and test input data for models used throughout the lending life cycle for compliance with fair lending regulations. Ensure proper documentation related to third party models Assisting in the development and administration of Compliance training related to evaluation of tier 2 and tier 3 models. Researching any new reform rules and rule changes and implementing policies, procedures, or other controls necessary to comply with the rules related to algorithm review from a fair lending and fairness perspective. Periodically re-validate processes to ensure validity, efficiency, and accuracy; and to identify enhancement opportunities. Develop and deepen Subject Matter Expertise in Fair Lending and Fairness regulations/laws as it relates to algorithm review through internal, external, and on-the-job training. Assisting with regulatory inquiries and/or examinations. This may include coordination with regulators and other parties. Work with examiners and business units to resolve any questions related to analytical methodology or data integrity Collaborating with other internal areas including Legal, Business Management, Operations, Technology, Finance, other Control Functions, and In-Business Risk to address compliance issues related to review of models which may impact the supported function/business/product. Additional duties as assigned Qualifications: At least 8 years of work experience in related fields 3+ years of work experience or equivalent in highly quantitative field, such as data science, applied economics, applied statistics, mathematics, or physics. Model development experience – preferably with AI/ML methods in finance or banking Experience in model development, model review and validation In-depth knowledge and understanding and demonstrated experience working with: AI/ML model development or validation, segmentation analysis and other statistical methods. Knowledge if issue management system and Citi risk and controls systems is a plus Knowledge of Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Python, SAS, Pyspark Demonstrated knowledge in area of focus Relevant certifications desirable Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree; experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; strong working knowledge of function/business/product supported and the related operations and financial requirements Knowledge of issue management system and Citi risk and controls systems is a plus Model development experience – preferably with AI/ML methods in finance or banking Proficient in tools like Python, SAS, R, and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of the latest AI/ML methods used to build predictive models.
