Responsibilities:

Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments using the Epic electronic health record system, including creating new medical identities for first-time patients.

Coordinate appointment bookings both in person and via telephone, ensuring timely reminders and following up on no-shows.

Receive and convey messages efficiently, whether electronically, verbally, or in writing.

Schedule patient visits in accordance with office policies and mark patient information accurately in the patient tracking system.

Assist with patient check-in and intake procedures, including taking vital signs and verifying patient information.

Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, assisting with patient procedures, and ensuring a smooth flow of patient care.

Engage effectively with patients, staff, and providers to uphold a professional and welcoming environment.

Adhere to office policies regarding cashier functions, including discussing patient balances within established collection guidelines.

Required Skills:

Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, Front Desk Assistant, or similar clinical support role.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is essential to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.

Strong knowledge of electronic health record systems, preferably Epic.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Basic understanding of medical billing and collection policies.

Nice to Have Skills:

Prior experience in a clinical setting that uses Epic or similar EHR software.

Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.

Comfort with administrative tasks such as scheduling, intake, and cashier functions.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) is preferred.

At least 1 year of relevant experience in a front desk or clinical support role.

Other Requirements:

Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Physical capability to stand for extended periods, assist with patient procedures, and perform administrative duties.

Comfort with basic cashiering and confidentiality policies.
