Senior FP&A Manager

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior FP&A Manager for a growing industrial distribution and packaging organization. This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity based in the Chicago, Illinois area .

POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Senior FP&A Manager will serve as a strategic finance leader responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening forecasting and planning, and providing actionable insights to executive leadership. This role will partner closely with Sales, Operations, and business unit leaders to improve profitability, pricing, and commercial decision-making while leading the FP&A function. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic finance professional who enjoys translating complex financial data into meaningful business recommendations and influencing organizational growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with executive leadership, Sales, Operations, and business unit leaders to deliver actionable financial insights, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, long-range planning, financial modeling, scenario analysis, and consolidated financial reporting across business units.
• Analyze revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, operating expenses, working capital, GL activity, and accruals to strengthen financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and business performance.
• Drive customer, product, and branch profitability analysis while leading pricing, rebate, cost-to-serve, and gross margin optimization initiatives.
• Support acquisitions, due diligence, financial modeling, strategic growth initiatives, sales pipeline analysis, backlog reporting, and other commercial planning activities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the FP&A team while establishing reporting standards, improving forecast accuracy, increasing automation, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Progressive experience within FP&A, commercial finance, corporate finance, or a closely related strategic finance function.
• Experience supporting executive leadership within a multi-site distribution, manufacturing, industrial, or shared-services environment .
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel ; experience with Tableau, Planful, or similar financial planning and reporting platforms is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, financial statement consolidation, pricing, and commercial finance.
• Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable business recommendations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:


This position offers a competitive base salary of $160,000-$175,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity , depending on experience and qualifications. The organization also offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' health, financial security, and overall well-being.
