Retail Bike Technician

OVERVIEW The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. The Bike Tech is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures. This individual pulls from personal experiences and industry research and trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the customer’s needs. Responsibilities include creating a world‑class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically (but not limited to) our Bike Department; upholding company standards for merchandise presentation; promoting company programs including warranty sales, the Scorecard loyalty program, private‑label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions; achieving sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise; assisting with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed; maintaining merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Bike Department to company standards as directed; adhering to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures; maintaining confidentiality of all company information; taking an all‑hands‑on‑deck approach to support the team across the store; and performing other tasks as assigned by management. TEAMMATE TRAITS Ensures Accountability Customer‑Focus Collaborative Instills Trust Decision‑Quality/Decision‑Making Abilities Action‑Oriented QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience of building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15-35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour) Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking Targeted Pay Range: $12.50 - $19.50 Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered.
