Mechanic

The Center for Disability Services’ Transportation Department, located in the Capital Region, is seeking an experienced Mechanic to maintain our fleet of over 80 buses and vans. Job Summary Maintain all department vehicles and equipment in proper and safe operating condition to comply with all department policies and DOT regulations. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to the fleet. Fill in as vehicle driver on relief or emergency basis and perform basic dispatch duties on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Act as a vehicle driver on a relief or emergency basis and handle basic dispatch duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Commercial Driver’s License B or C with passenger endorsement; training to obtain an CDL if needed. At least 5 years of experience in automotive repair or service and driving. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently. Drivers must be certified by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. Compensation $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.
